Rito Lectern

Designed by Caterina Moretti & Alejandra Carmona and crafted by Peca in Mexico City.

Rito is inspired by the lectern, one of the most representative pieces of ecclesiastical furniture. Before the invention of the printing press, these stands were used to hold choral scores. Rito seeks to generate a dialogue between the private and the sacred. The interplay between heavy stone and lightweight wood, as well as between shapes, give Rito sculptural and architectural qualities. It’s a contemplative object that solemnly transforms a space. Rito was created using traditional carpentry techniques, giving way to unique spaces where you can create your own sanctuaries of personal iconography.
